Novels by a Lady Biker
About Me
Me and My Trusty Trike
I rode this trike from Key West along A1A and US 1 to Main then back south along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Natchez Trace then across the southern US with stops in Texas, N. Mexico, Arizona, California, up the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Washington. I came back south through the western states then went back north stopping at all the parks I could before heading to Alaska via the inland ferry from Bellingham, WA. I returned through Canada and ended up settling near Ash Fork, AZ.
I kept riding until I bought land off the grid in N. Arizona and my poor bike just wouldn't take the nasty roads. A person who really wanted the bike bought it and I know it is in good hands. Today, I still write or edit daily, but I also have other things that grab my attention.
I began writing in 2014. My plan was to use my writing to keep me out of trouble while I was traveling and throughout retirement. Didn't help a whole lot, but then again, I've been having fun creating stories from next to nothing. Some of them are based on real stories and fictionalize while others are from my travels and others from where I'd love to travel.
When I settled here, I ended up finding other things to keep my squirrelly nature alive. Below are a few of them.
There are six horses, and these magnificent views from where I live. There are pronghorn antelope, javelina, free range cattle, ravens, a redtail hawk, a large owl, snakes poisonous and not. coyotes, jack rabbits and bunnies, moles, kangaroo rats, pack rats, field mice, and all sorts of bugs. That doesn't include my two dogs and a cat named Boo.
What we don't have is the 120 degree temperatures like Phoenix. We do get a lot of wind but not much rain or snow. This is considered middle desert with junipers everywhere. There isn't a ton of green other than the juniper or during the spring. So if my stories don't have a ton of color, you now know why. My landscape is somewhat barren with mainly browns and olive green until sunset where you can get the prettiest oranges, reds and purples.
This is from my back yard.
I've enjoyed watching many sunsets like this one since I've been here in Arizona. I moved from south Florida in 2o16 and haven't regretted the move. I love the isolation and the nature quiet. (hint: nature is NEVER quiet. There is always some sort of noise.)
I write like I read. Speculative fiction covers dystopian, sci-fi and fantasy, and I read them all. Then there is the mystery/suspense that I like. And of course romance. What I do have is female heroines who encounter a lot of things including their internal demons that they have to deal with in various setting.
I'm doing my best to not remain squirrelly and focus on one thing at a time. But as you can see from this, it's difficult for me. Just enjoy the jump in topics and hopefully you'll have as much fun as I'm having. In this site you'll find my romances. I'm sort of like Barbara Cartland in that I don't do erotica. I will have kissing, hugging and a risqué scene now and then but not often. I prefer the 'leave-it-to- your-imagination' style where you can take it wherever you want. If you want more than that, then check out https://www,bamealer.com. That is where you'll find the gritty works.
